Meet Aron Hendler! The Youngest Son of Julia Haart Appears in "My Unorthodox Life"

July 2021 brought the series, “My Unorthodox Life,” to the screens with Netflix. The miniseries follows the life of fashion mogul Julia Haart, who is a former ultra-Orthodox Jew, and her family as they step into their new non-religious lifestyle.

The series introduced Julia’s family, her husband Silvio Scaglia, and her four children, Shlomo, Batsheva, Miriam, and Aron.

Today, we are getting to know the youngest son, Aron Hendler through this article.

Who is Aron Hendler? His Bio

Aron was born in June 2006. The 15-year-old is the youngest son of Julia Haart; she welcomed Aron with her ex-husband, Yosef Hendler. Aron still lives in Monsey as Julia and Yosef share custody of him.

At first, Aron was pretty conservative despite his family’s approach to modern world views.

The show highlights Aron’s struggle with peer pressure. There was also a brief time when the teen believed that social media, television, and even talking to girls were not okay.

That was when Julia claimed him to have been “brainwashed.” She then talked to Aron about the concept, “You don’t sound like a religious Jew, you sound like a fundamentalist. I lived in that world, and it’s a very small and sad world and a place where women have one purpose in life, and that is to have babies and get married. And that’s one thing that I am very worried about because… I don’t want my son to think that that is the only world that exists.”

Now, however, things seem to have changed for Aron. He goes to a co-ed high school and even has a public Instagram account.

He has also admitted to his mum that he would watch television under guidance.

Aron Hendler’s Siblings

“My Unorthodox Life” showcases the struggles of Aron’s siblings as well. The oldest of the siblings, Shlomo Hendler Haart, is a law student. Shlomo did not have much problem with his mum abandoning Yeshivishe Heimishe.

In fact, he also left Monsey and went to find a balance between being a devout Jew and being a part of modern society.

The trailer of the show also teased that Shlomo might experience his first kiss.

The second child of the family, Batsheva Haart Weinstein, was a recently married 19-year-old when Julia left the community.

That led to Batsheva questioning everything she had been living by and feeling like she had been abandoned. This was the reason Batsheva and Julia did not maintain any relationship for some time.

Now, Batsheva is a TikTok celebrity. When talking about her balance between her traditions and a modern lifestyle, Batsheva says, “I did the married thing young at 19 and never had any single years as an adult.”

Miriam Haart, the third child and second daughter of the family, was interestingly the one who helped Julia push through the reserved tradition. She always asked the reasoning behind things her mother had been doing for so long, ultimately helping Julia look outside of her world.

As a proud bisexual with a confident personality, Miriam did not like that she could not “have fun” in her community. Thus, she had no problem getting into the modern lifestyle, even deciding to change her last name to Haart legally.
