Ben Folds has been married five times throughout his life. Despite the fact that four of his marriages ended in divorce, the artist and his ex-wives have a fantastic relationship.
Folds is married to Emma Sandall, a former Royal Ballet dancer, and they have two children. They've been dating since at least 2016 and are planning to marry before July 2020.
Folds has given very little information about his wife to the public, and all we know about her comes from other sources.
In a New York Times article from 2020, it was claimed that he and Sandall had put their Hudson, New York, home on the market.
Folds and his wife had originally paid $1,181,740 for the property. The pair then spent over $2 million renovating the three-story Victorian building, which is 8,700 square feet.
The pair put a lot of effort into the property during the restoration, creating innovative places for each of them.
“I seem to have a thing for long, rectangular, creative spaces,” Folds said of the building. “And we certainly put a lot into this one.”
Folds and his wife offered the building for $2.8 million with listing broker Nicole Vidor.
Ben Folds Good Friends With His Previous Spouses
Despite the fact that nothing is known about Sandall, Folds has divulged a lot about his prior wives.
Anna Goodman, whom he described as his "oldest friend," was his first wife. When they were six years old, they met at a North Carolina elementary school. Folds was also inspired to start playing music by her.
Folds and Goodman married in 1987 after more than a decade of friendship. In an essay for The Sydney Morning Herald, he wrote,
“Anna and I felt pressure to do something with our lives. Getting married was the thing you had to do. My mum was barely 20 when she had me–but it’s what you did. We were married from 1987 to 1992.”
Despite the fact that they divorced after five years of marriage, they are still close friends. Collaborations with Goodman can be found on Ben Folds Five's first two albums.
Folds married Kate Rosen on December 14, 1996, four years after his divorce from Goodman. Unfortunately, the marriage only lasted a year before ending.
The musician from 'Zak and Sara' later moved on to Frally Hynes, an Australian artist. On May 20, 1999, the couple married in Adelaide, South Australia.

Folds and Hynes had twins Louis Francis and Gracie Scott in July 1999, just two months after their wedding.
In the same essay, Folds discussed the difficulties of managing fatherhood with a musical career.
“I lived in Adelaide during that time and would travel to the US to play gigs to earn money for the family. It was a heavy load, but we were blessed because of the twins.”
Hynes and Folds' marriage dissolved in 2006. He has since commended her for keeping the family together and describing her as the best mother to their children.
Folds went on with Fleur Stanbrook after his third marriage ended in divorce. They married on November 15, 2007. The couple didn't have any children together and split up in 2011.
