It's because she had surgery on her right ankle to treat an osteochondral defect, or bone and cartilage joint injury.
She competed against teams including Arkansas, Notre Dame, George Tech, and Villanova, among others. She sustained a tibial plateau fracture in between bouts and had surgery to correct the fracture as well as a previously unreported lateral meniscus tear.
On July 13, 2021, she submitted a trademark application for the use of her nickname on sporting equipment such as shirts, jeans, jackets, footwear, caps, and uniforms.
