Beatrice Luigi Gomez made history by becoming the first openly bisexual Miss Universe Philippines contestant.
On September 30, the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 pageant was held, with Beatrice Luigi Gomez emerging victorious. The 26-year-old Cebuana beauty is the pageant's first openly queer champion.
Throughout her pageant career, Gomez has been open about her relationship with girlfriend Kate Jagdon. On Instagram, the two routinely share photos of themselves. In an interview with the Cebu Daily News, Gomez expressed her hope that the LGBTQ+ community will soon be free of bullying and violence.

Kate, who was born in 1995, is a fitness enthusiast as well as an entrepreneur and DJ.
Kate was born in the Philippines and shared a gorgeous photo of the breathtaking environment on Instagram in May 2021.
She added a caption on the photo,” Proud to call this my home, located in the Northern part of Cebu specifically in Bogo City, my hometown, lies a captivating islet which is believed to be the sunken ship off the cursed Capitan Basilio.

Beatrice, from Cebu City, was extremely upfront about her connection with Kate throughout the Miss Universe Philippines competition.
She has over 39,000 Instagram followers and frequently posts photos from travels and dates with Beatrice.
Following Beatrice's victory, Kate took to Instagram to congratulate her on her accomplishment.

Cebu Daily News quoted Beatrice as saying,
”When I met my girlfriend I was fixed on what I wanted regardless of what other people say and I felt that I didn’t owe anyone any explanation, that’s why I did not have to come out."
