Coming October, Netflix is dropping the newest comedy-drama television series called Maid, inspired by Stephanie Land’s memoir, Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive.
Among the talented set of the cast is Anika Noni Rose who plays as a lead alongside Nick Robinson and Margaret Qualley.
Anika Noni Rose is playing Regina, an undeniably successful family law attorney, and Alex’s (played by Margaret Qualley) client.

Anika Noni Rose was born on September 6, 1972, under the zodiac sign of Virgo. She was born in Bloomfield, Connecticut to her parents, Claudia and John Rose.

For her education, Anika went to Florida A&M University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre.
After that, she went to study drama at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, California.

Anika, as stated before, is playing a successful family law attorney named Regina. She is the youngest lawyer to make a partner at her firm, with a strong personality. The smart lawyer embraces an extreme work ethic and is a perfectionist.

Anika had begun acting during high school when she appeared in a school production during her freshman year.
It was three months after she moved to New York that she got the role of Rusty in Broadway’s Footloose. Footloose took her to several workshops and two musicals.
Anika hit her huge Broadway break in Carolina, or Change where she was cast as Emmie Thibodeaux. The year 2014 brought her the Theatre World Award, the Lucille Lortel Award, and the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical.
It wasn’t long before her film debut, King of the Bingo Game, led her to portray Kaya in From Justin to Kelly in 2003. She then appeared in Temptation (2014) and Surviving Christmas as a singer in the choir.
In 2006, Anika starred in Dreamgirls with the role of Lorrell Robinson, alongside Jennifer Hudson, Beyoncé Knowles, Eddie Murphy, and Jamie Foxx.
Among all of her credits, Anika is mostly known for her voiceover in Disney’s 2009 animation, The Princess and the Frog, where she voiced the lead character, Tiana.
Anika has appeared in several movies and TV shows including For Colored Girls (2010), The Good Wife (2010-2013), Bag of Bones (2011), The Quad (2017), and Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (2020), among many others.
