Former child star Matthew Mindler was found dead three days after he was reported missing from his dorm.
Millersville University president Daniel A. Wubah confirmed Mindler's death in a statement released Saturday.
"It is with a grieving heart that I let you know of the death of 19-year-old Matthew Mindler from Hellertown, Pennsylvania, a first-year student at Millersville University. Our thoughts of comfort and peace are with his friends and family during this difficult time."
"A search had been underway for Matthew since Thursday, after he was reported missing."
The statement further added,
"Millersville University Police and law enforcement agencies from the area had been searching for him since that time. Matthew was found deceased this morning, Saturday, August 28 in Manor Township near campus."
"Matthew was transported to the Lancaster County Forensic Center by the coroner for further investigation."
Mindler was last seen exiting his dorm room building at 8:11 pm local time on Tuesday, 24th August 2021. He was wearing black stripes on the arm, a white Millersville University hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and white sneakers.
No cause of death has been shared at this time or whether foul play is suspected.
Matthew Mindler was best known for his role alongside Paul Rudd in "Our Idiot Brother.” His last role was Peter’s character in the 2016 TV movie “Chad: An American Boy.”

Matthew Mindler was a former child actor who received eight movie credits between 2009 and 2016. He played Halloween Boy in As the World Turns, Boy Playing Soccer in Bereavement, Frequency, This American Life: One Night Only at BAM, Last Week Tonight with Joh Oliver, Solo, and Chad: An American Boy.
His most notable work to date is Our Idiot Brother. He played the role of River, the son of Liz (Emily Mortimer) and Dylan (Steve Coogan). In the movie, River is heavily controlled by his parents and unable to express himself.

Matthew was 19 at the time of his death. His parents remain anonymous, but people flocked into his brother Derek Mindler’s FB comment section to bestow their sympathy after the tragic incident.
Matthew’s brother Derek who earned degrees in Cinema/Video production from Bucks County Community College and St. John’s University, is also pursuing his career in the film industry.
