Manuel Luis Jacinto is a Canadian actor who gained immense attention with the role came of Jason Mendoza on the NBC sitcom The Good Place, after several tiny roles on television.
He'll be seen in Top Gun: Maverick, one of the most anticipated films of 2022. Jacinto portrays a pilot named Fritz in the Tom Cruise film.

At the Vulture Festival, Jacinto shared the specifics of his proposal to his now-fiancee and said that a phrase from The Good Place by his character, Jason Mendoza, helped him make his decision.
He said, “I was toying when to pop the question for a long time. I looked at the Janet/Jason relationship, and there’s a sentence that Jason says to Chidi about relationships, and it hit me pretty hard. I thought it was a sign that I needed to do it, and a week later, I popped the question.”
The 34-year-old actor brought Doan to a number of places that were significant to them. “I took her to places that really meant a lot to us. Where I first met her, where I first saw her, where we had our first date, and where we had our first dance class,” Jacinto said.
He went on to say that he had "these canvas things written down with a message" that explained why the locations were significant to them. At each spot, he instructed Doan to close her eyes and hold up the canvas for him to examine.
He then revealed that Doan might have anticipated a proposal but was not met with one right away. “I think she thought I was going to pop the question at the first place. So with the first note, she was like, ‘Oh, that’s cool.’ I think she was a little disappointed there wasn’t more.”
Finally, after bringing Doan to five different locations, they arrived at the last destination, where both of their families awaited them. That was when Jacinto got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
The couple has remained together since their engagement, as they have in the past. They currently share their home with their pet dog, an American Bully that they adopted during the pandemic. There has been no new information about their wedding.
