Very recently, it has come to light that billionaire philanthropist MacKenzie Scott has remarried quite secretly. She was previously married to one of the world’s famous billionaires, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Her new husband, Dan Jewett, however, seems to be far from a billionaire, but definitely contributing to making future billionaires.
Who is Dan Jewett?
Dan Jewett is a teacher by profession. Last reported, he was teaching science at Lakeside School, which is considered a quite prestigious private school that is located in Seattle. According to The Washington Post, MacKenzie’s children attend the same school.

It is not confirmed if Dan is still teaching at the same school since his name is not mentioned in the faculty directory. However, reports suggest that he met MacKenzie while working there.
During the early years of his teaching career, Dan taught Chemistry at a Pennsylvania high school. He was also a teacher at Harriton High School in Bryn Mawr. One of his former students from Harriton revealed that Dan was a pretty involved teacher.
“He was involved, energetic, passionate, friendly, gregarious in a really earnest way,” Josh Verlin explained to the PEOPLE magazine. Josh mentioned that Dan was his teacher during the 2006 school year.
“He so clearly loved what he was doing, loved teaching and loved science, and enjoyed working with the students...He was very engaging, and you wanted to be in his class.”
Dan also contributed at The Bush School in Seattle as a Science teacher, from 2011 to 2016.

Dan is actively participating in charity alongside his wife, MacKenzie Scott. According to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index, the teacher is focusing on helping his wife, who’s worth over $50 billion, with her several philanthropic activities.

In his pledge, Dan expressed his willingness to join hands with his wife to put the wealth to good use.

He then continued to write how he viewed MacKenzie’s efforts for philanthropy, “Recognizing how much I have to learn from those unlike me has led me to a partner similarly inclined. I have seen many ways that MacKenzie has seen her efforts enhanced when she acts on the belief that those with common values but different perspectives, strengths, and experiences are essential to effecting positive change.”

Dan continued, “With that as a foundation, I join with the kindest and most thoughtful person I know in making this pledge, grateful for the exceptional privilege it will be to partner in giving away assets with the potential to do so much good when shared.”
Jeff Bezos is Happy For MacKenzie Scott
Jeff Bezos, the world’s richest man, and MacKenzie’s ex-husband is happy that she has found love and admired her new partner.
“Dan is such a great guy, and I’m happy and excited for the both of them,” Jeff stated to the Washington Post.
