What is 'Queen Sugar' Star Kofi Siriboe's Take on Dating?

Kofi Siriboe has been making headlines with his appearance in Doja Cat’s “Streets” official video. 

The actor is prominently known for his breakout role as Ralph Bordelon in the series, Queen Sugar, on the Oprah Winfrey Network. 

Who is Kofi Siriboe? 

Kofi Siriboe was born Nana-Kofi Siriboe on March 2, 1994, under the zodiac sign of Pisces. His parents, Kwame Siriboe and Koshie Mills are of Ghanaian descent. 

Kofi grew up in Los Angeles, California, with his siblings, brothers Kwane Boateng and Kwesi Boakye, as a middle child.

He debuted in 2008 with the movie, The Longshots. After that, Kofi went to appear in films like Prom in 2011, Whiplash in 2014, and Straight Outta Compton in 2015. 

On television, Kofi took on a recurring role on the comedy-drama series, Awkward, from 2014 to 2015.

While the actor has been in the industry since he was a kid, Kofi really started getting attention when he appeared on the drama series, Queen Sugar, in 2016. His role of Ralph Bordelon in the show even got him three consecutive NAACP Image Award nominations. 

Is Kofi Siriboe Dating? 

The first time Kofi became open about his romantic life was in 2018 when he was dating supermodel Duckie Thot. 

In March 2018, Kofi made an obvious gesture of appreciation for his girlfriend Duckie. He went to social media on International Women’s Day to celebrate his girlfriend and all Black women.

Fans took this as a sign that Kofi was not single anymore. The actor also composed a poem for Duckie in a now-deleted Instagram post. 

“My love, you blossom like the flowers do; you keep growing. I love watching you. You remind me of sunrise every morning — just a glance in your direction transmutes the darkest day to light. No man should be lucky enough to love you. All queens, everywhere, happy #internationoalwomensday.”

On the other hand, Duckie also soon posted a picture with Kofi on her Instagram, two days after his confirmation. The caption on the now-deleted post read, “Forever at my happiest by your side.”

It was after a year that Kofi and Duckie called it quits. People assumed that they had broke up before the beginning of the new year because Kofi tweeted, “Maybe my wife will reveal herself to me this year. Maybe I’ll become the man I’ve always wanted to be” on New Year’s day.

Soon enough, the two were once again seen together attending Paris Fashion Week, and fans thought the two had gotten back together. 

However, in the summer of 2019, Kofi talking about why he was single at a live appearance of the Yes Girl! Podcast when he attended the Essence Festival in New Orleans.

“I’m not going to be in a relationship unless I’m really able to commit. Before I’m able to commit, I have to show myself that I can commit to myself and become the man I want to be. I’m doing me right now. I know I want kids. I know I want a woman. I want property, but there are things I need to do first.” - Kofi Siriboe
