One of the most exciting news for the next season is the promotion of Liz Friedman as she will be the co-showrunner alongside David Shore.

Friedman has been with The Good Doctor since Season 2 when she joined as an executive producer on the show.

The new co-showrunner shared her joy at her new position in an interview with Deadline, “Since giving me my first staff job, David has been a mentor, friend and defining influence on my career.”

“And while our arc could satisfyingly end with me turning to the Dark Side and impaling him on my lightsaber, banding together over our shared love of good stories and The Good Doctor seemed less twisted and more rewarding.”

David Shore also shared his feelings, “I have worked with, and shared my burdens with, and depended on Liz for years. Very much looking forward to enjoying all the great things she is going to do with the show.”

The Good Doctor Season 6 has welcomed Two New Characters

Another confirmed news for Season 6 is the addition of two new cast members, Savannah Welch and Brandon Larracuente.

Brandon Larracuente, best recognized for his role in 13 Reasons Why, will join the show as a new intern named Daniel. His character is a charming young guy who is interested in controversial alternate medications.

Savannah Welch, on the other hand, will be portraying Danica, a rebellious Annapolis graduate who is wise beyond her years.

The two will be appearing as medical interns in the hospital, introducing themselves in the initial episodes of Season 6.

Meanwhile, the finale of The Good Doctor Season 5 will be following Shaun and Lea Dilallo (Spara) as they make a huge life decision that everyone at the hospital is rooting for.
