Charlie McDowell and Lily Collins are officially married!
The two tied the knot over the weekend in Colorado, as per Lily’s Instagram post.
“I’ve never wanted to be someone’s someone more than I do yours, and now I get to be your wife,” Lily wrote alongside a picture from the wedding where the two were sharing a kiss. “On September 4th, 2021 we officially became each other’s forever. I love you beyond @charliemcdowell”
Charlie also took to his Instagram and posted more pictures from the wedding and wrote, “I married the most generous, thoughtful, and beautiful person I’ve ever known. I love you @lilyjcollins”
Charlie’s mother, actress Mary Steenburgen also joined in sharing her happiness over the lovely occasion. She shared a picture of the newlywed couple and wrote, “Charlie, my son, and Lily, my daughter-in-law!!! Thank you for letting us all bask in the sheer beauty of your love for each other. My heart is overflowing and it almost feels like the last few days were some sort of beautiful dream. But it is all real, and I feel like the luckiest mother in the world.”

The picture Mary Steenburgen posted had tags showing on it. This led to Charlie’s witty comment, “Mom, next time I get married just ask for the photo instead of posting a screenshot with the tags showing. Also I love you.” The reply from Mary was, “Shut up. And congratulations. ❤️”
Who is Charlie McDowell?
Charlie McDowell was born Charles Malcolm McDowell to English actor Malcolm McDowell and American actress Mary Steenburgen.
Charlie is an American film director and writer who is best known for his debut film, The One I Love, which starred Mark Duplass and Elisabeth Moss. The movie was acquired by RADiUS-TWC and released in August 2014.
Charlie’s next film, The Discovery, starred Jason Segel, Rooney Mara, and Robert Redford. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and soon enough, Netflix acquired it for a global release in 2017.

In March 2017, Charlie announced that he would be adapting Don DeLillo’s novel, "Zero K," to a limited series for FX with producers Noah Hawley and Scott Rudin.
In 2019, Charlie also directed the first and final episodes of the Showtime series, On Becoming a God in Central Florida, and contributed as an executive producer. He further directed episodes of Silicon Valley, Tales from the Loop, Dear White People, and Dispatches from Elsewhere.
His next film, Gilded Rage, is based on the infamous murder of investment banker Thomas Gilbert Sr. The film will be starring Christoph Waltz and Bill Skarsgård who will portray the character in different periods of Thomas’ life. Lily Collins will also be joining the cast.
